Australian Shepherd    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Tahoe is a 3 year old AKC registered Black Tri Male Australian Shepherd. He was born on 04-04-2014 and left his breeder at 5 mos to live with his new owners and their male Aussie/BC who is 1 1/2 years older than he is. Tahoe gets along very well with his 'brother' and his 'parents' and anyone else that he knows and trusts. He has always been an anxious pup. His owners have worked with him for 3 years to teach him that strangers are not going to hurt him but he has a bad habit of running through his invisible fence and charging at strangers with his wild barking. His 'parents' have decided that the time has come for Tahoe to find a new ... (Read More)home. He has been living on 3 acres with a pond and comes inside to the basement when the weather is bad. He is VERY fast and can get away from you if not leashed or within a fenced area. His favorite thing is to lean into his owners and get butt rubs. He is very much a velcro dog. He does not show any interest in chasing balls. He does play well with his 'brother'. Tahoe needs an owner who can give him plenty of exercise and to let him know that he is not the boss. He does well out in public and enjoys car rides, going to the groomer, and to his boarding facility. He is just a nervous guy when exposed to the unknown. Tahoe is microchipped, neutered, and fully vetted. If you are interested in making Tahoe part of your family, please email Mary at: mgmc99@aol.com (Less)

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sweet, Sweet, Lucinda will be adoptable soon! We call her Lucy for short. She is the sweetest girl we have ever met. She loves EVERYONE! She is an Aussie/Husky mix (we think), spayed female, 42 lbs, and is about one year young. Lucinda gets along well with our 11 month old pup, and they play, and play, and PLAY! She is learning to walk on a leash, to sit, to play with toys, and crate training. Lucinda chases our cat, but our cat teases dogs by running up to them, repelling off of them, then running away, so she may be ok with a well behaved cat. She seems to have a high prey drive and gets very excited about squirrels in the back yard. We ... (Read More)are training her daily, and she is learning quickly! She comes when called or to a whistle. She cocks her head in the cutest way. Lucy will be a wonderful friend to the lucky person that adopts her later. We will miss her!     Meet Miss Sassy! She will be available for adoption in the near future. She came from a small hoarding situation in TX a few months ago and was scared and skinny. Sassy has come a long way and still has progress to make, but she will be a wonderful Velcro dog for a patient, loving owner. She is two years young, very playful, and gets along with other dogs after she gets to know them. She ignores our cat. She walks well on a leash, comes when called and sticks close. This little 25 pound Aussie- BC mix is a wonderful size that is easy to handle and great to travel with. Sassy is still shy and will need someone to be patient and ... (Read More)understanding.     Calvin is 3-4 years old. About 45 pounds. He was my foster over a year ago when ASF rescued him from Charlotte Mecklenberg Animal Control where he was found as a stray. I fostered him for a couple weeks and then he was adopted. He was in his new home for about a year until he was returned to ASF for biting 'grandma'. For the last 3 months I've had Calvin, he's not exhibited any signs of aggression towards humans. He does not like other dogs though and would be best as an only dog or with a female dog.     People call me Doreen. I weigh around thirty pounds, just turned a year old, and know lots of tricks like 'come,' 'sit,' 'down,' 'stay,' and 'shake.' (We're working on 'play dead' and 'no bark,' and I'm a pretty quick learner.) I love to snuggle with my people. Australian Shepherds Furever helped to rescue me as a small puppy from a hoarding outfit and placed me in a loving home in Dallas. I hung onto a few quirks from my childhood; I still eat my meals too quickly and sneak into other's beds--whether another dog or my family's. Crate training and my special cloverleaf bowl have helped me work through a lot of those issues. I also appear ... (Read More)to be part Jack Russell Terrier. I love my people but can be quite territorial and feisty around strangers as is typical for a Jack Russell Terriers. My current owners have reached out to a trainer, so I can work on mellowing out and thrive in my new home. Although I'm easy going most of the time, I am best suited for a family who can handle my at times challenging temperament. On three occasions when I was overly excited, I bit folks who I incorrectly perceived as a threat. I didn't mean to do so, but my Jack Russell instincts sometimes kick in. My family has a senior, male border collie with whom I'm smitten. Unfortunately I'm not a good fit for small children or homes with cats, and my current family has both. I'm as sweet as I am good looking and would be the perfect addition to a family who can offer me plenty of stimulation and structure. (Less)

'Skeet' (Skeeter) is a loving 5.8 year old m/n terrier x poodle mix. He is affectionate and good with other non-beligerant dogs, but not cats. He is smart, perceptive, and will kennel on command. Probably, the cutest things about him are his one black eye and his response to the 'sit' command: his front end will go down when asked to 'sit' and the back end will subsequently drop with the 'down' command. Skeeter was originally obtained from a rescue organization in Georgia. He was selected among at least 5 other scrawny siblings in a small cage. He literally came from squander. It was said that his mother is a poodle, although he does not ... (Read More)share her markings or frame. It is unknown what breed of dog his father is. Skeet loves running errands in the car, visits to the landscaping nursery, short walks, and to ice cream pallors that serve pet friendly ice cream. Skeeter is a great bed warmer and has a winter vest for colder temperatures. He enjoys being groomed from time to time which transforms him into refined little pooch. Skeeter needs a loving home that will love and appreciate him and all that he has to offer. He is not interested in being herded or picked on by anyone... and will make an excellent companion for the right owner. He is HW neg and current on vaccines.     Ruby was adopted from a shelter in Sept. 2016. She is a 2-3 year old red bi-Australian Shepherd with a docked tail. She is a terrific dog, friendly with people and kids. Ruby has a high predatory drive and there is a much loved cat in her adopted home so she needs a feline free home. She still needs some training to not jump up when meeting new people and to be less reactive when encountering a squirrel or rabbit on walks. She is a dominate female, so she should be either the only dog in the household or with a submissive male dog. She also needs a home with a high fence. She jumps standard chain link fences and has jumped over a 41' indoor dog fence. (Read More)long way, but still need some help that would be best provided in a home with a family that can provide them one-on-one interaction. Since living here, they've learned to love going for off-leash walks and runs. They have good recall and will come back into the yard with everyone else. They love to play with each other and with other dogs. They are bonded but no longer co-dependent. We would love to have these two rehomed together. It would just be fun! They'll lick our hands and sometimes the backs of our legs when we're not looking. They smile at us, and wag their tails. They get excited and happy when we come home. They are very happy here and probably would have no problems living the rest of their lives this way, but I am hoping a family out there is willing to take them in and continue their 'lessons' where they aren't part of a huge group of dogs, as they are here. Billy and Sally are about a year old (as of May 2017) and only weigh 30 pounds or so. They are likely mini-Aussies or maybe very, very small Border Collies. I would love to talk to anyone who is interested in helping these dogs move forward. I can explain more about their background, what we have done with them, and what more needs to be done. It's a project that would pay off in a big way because even just getting them to this point has been a very uplifting experience for us. Someone out there surely would love to bring these little cuties into their lives! If you think that Billy and Sally would fit your home please fill out an application at http://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application. Their adoption fee is $400 and is for both dogs as we would like to keep them together (Less)

Billy and Sally were pulled from a hoarding situation in Texas and went into boarding to await a rescue to come get them. Unfortunately that rescue backed out and Billy and Sally, who were simply named Two and Three at the time, stayed in boarding a lot longer than they should have. ASF stepped up, and now they live in Crestview, Florida, where they are learning to trust people and be the good dogs they could have been all along.     Leah is one of our seniors. She is a wonderful little dog who loves to be loved and just hang out with others. We're not sure how she would do with cats but seems to do okay with other dogs. She probably would do better with another older dog so they don't try and rough house too much with her.     This is not my first time fostering -- I am a two time foster-failure. But I cannot fail this time -- I do believe there is a better home for this beautiful and precious girl. We are in Georgia and she is approximately 2 years old and very puppy-like and very affectionate. She was originally discovered in a sewer pipe and was given the name Piper -- which was later changed to Indi. Full of life, she loves her toys and LOVES her hair to be brushed daily and will sit promptly before you to have it brushed. Even more than that she love love loves to swim. Indi is not the right fit for a home with other animals or small children but she would be ... (Read More)an amazing dog for a couple who just wants a dog to pal around with. She's come a long way. She loves greens like broccoli, green beans, and lettuce; she gobbled up a cherry tomato for a treat yesterday. She is also a talker and a good listener and picks up vocabulary. Car rides are a must and she prefers sleeping in the bed with her human than in the crate -- but will gladly go in her crate at meal time. Nothing but the best for this precious girl!! She is up for adoption. If you think Indi might fit into your family please fill out an application at http://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application.
